FRK plays an oncogenic role in nonsmall cell lung cancer by enhancing the stemness phenotype via induction of metabolic reprogramming
The role of Fyn‐related kinase (FRK) in malignant tumors remains controversial. This study investigated the function of FRK in lung cancer. Immunohistochemistry staining and generating a knockout of FRK by CRISPR/Cas9 in H1299 (FRK‐KO‐H1299) cells were strategies used to explore the role of FRK. Immunohistochemistry staining indicated that FRK expression was elevated in 223 lung cancer tissues compared with 26 distant normal lung tissues. FRK contributed to poor survival status in lung cancer patients...

A case‐control evaluation of 143 single nucleotide polymorphisms for breast cancer risk stratification with classical factors and mammographic density
Panels of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) stratify risk for breast cancer in women from the general population, but studies are needed assess their use in a fully‐comprehensive model including classical risk factors, mammographic density and more than 100 SNPs associated with breast cancer. A case‐control study was designed (1668 controls, 405 cases) in women aged 47‐73 years attending routine screening in Manchester UK, and enrolled in a wider study to assess methods for risk assessment....

Anxiety and distress following receipt of results from routine HPV primary testing in cervical screening: the Psychological Impact of Primary Screening (PIPS) study
We used a cross‐sectional survey to examine short‐term anxiety and distress in women receiving different results following routine human papillomavirus (HPV) primary testing at cervical screening. Participants were women aged 24‐65 (n=1127) who had attended screening at one of five sites piloting HPV primary screening in England, including a control group with normal cytology who were not tested for HPV. Women completed a postal questionnaire ~2 weeks after receiving their screening result. Unadjusted...
